Marcus Aurelius - Kintsugi
Kintsugi (Japanese)
(n.) (v. phr) “to repair with gold”
The art of repairing pottery with gold while understanding the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.
Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor from 161 to 180ce.
He was the last emperor of Pax Romana, an age of relative peace, calm and stability. He symbolized the golden age of the Roman Empire for many generations in the West.
“Reject your sense of injury and the injury itself disappears.” M.A.
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is a series of writings regarding his private notes to himself, serving as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement.
In this work we perfectly merge the philosophy and art of kintsugi with aspects of the human condition.
